Understanding the Shekinah Glory

Throughout Scripture, the “Shekinah Glory” refers to the visible, manifest presence of GOD dwelling among His people — the cloud that led Israel through the wilderness by day and the pillar of fire by night (Exodus 13:21), the glory that filled Solomon’s temple so completely that the priests could not stand to minister (2 Chronicles 5:14).
The word “Shekinah” itself does not appear in the Hebrew text of the Bible — it is a later rabbinic term describing this dwelling presence — but the reality it names runs through the whole of Scripture, from the Garden of Eden to the Most Holy Place, and ultimately to the person of Jesus Christ, in whom “the fullness of the Godhead” was pleased to dwell bodily (Colossians 2:9).
The Ministry of Repentance and Holiness teaches that this same glory is not a relic of the Old Testament but a present reality available to a Church that returns wholeheartedly to obedience and holiness. Revival meetings, healing services and prophetic visitations documented across the Ministry’s branches are understood, in this light, as continued expressions of GOD drawing near to a people prepared to receive Him.
This is why repentance is preached with such urgency: Scripture consistently ties the manifest presence of GOD to the holiness of those in whose midst He dwells. “Be holy, for I am holy” (1 Peter 1:16) is not a call to religious performance but an invitation into the kind of nearness the Shekinah Glory represents.
