Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the Ministry of Repentance and Holiness collects through its website, repentandpreparetheway.com, and its official mobile applications for Android and iPhone, Repentance and Holiness; why; who else handles it; and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

The Ministry of Repentance and Holiness (“the Ministry”, “we”) is responsible for the information described here. You can reach us about anything in this policy at info@repentandpreparetheway.com.

2. You do not need an account

The website and the apps have no accounts, logins or sign-up. You can read, watch and listen without telling us who you are.

3. Information you choose to send us

When you use a form — a prayer request, a salvation follow-up, a contact message or a newsletter sign-up — on the website or in an app, we receive what you type: usually your name, a phone number or email address, your town or nearest branch, and your message.

• Why: to pray with you, to reply when you have asked us to, and to send newsletters you have signed up for. We use it for nothing else.
• Prayer requests are sensitive. They often describe health, family circumstances or matters of faith. We treat them as confidential pastoral correspondence: they are not published, not sold and not shared outside the Ministry except with the service providers in section 7 that deliver them to us.
• Your consent. In the apps, the prayer and contact forms ask for your explicit consent before anything is sent. You may withdraw it at any time by writing to us, and we will delete what you sent.

4. Information collected automatically on the website

• Google Analytics. The website uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It uses cookies and receives your IP address, browser and approximate location, which Google processes under its own privacy policy. We see only aggregated reports.
• Server logs. Our host keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses and pages requested) to keep the site secure and working.
• YouTube. Videos play through YouTube’s embedded player, which may set its own cookies once you press play.

5. Information collected automatically by the apps

The apps count, anonymously, how many installs are in use and which items are opened, so the Ministry knows what is being read and watched:

• A random install identifier created on your phone the first time the app runs. It is not linked to your name, phone number, email, advertising ID or anything you type into a form. When it reaches us it is scrambled (hashed) and only the scrambled form is kept.
• The platform and app version (for example “Android 1.5.0”).
• That the app was opened on a given day, and which article, teaching or video was opened.

We may pass these anonymous view counts to our Google Analytics property so that app and website readership appear in one report. The apps contain no advertising and no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs, and they do not collect your location, contacts, photos or files.

6. Information kept only on your phone

The apps store the following on your device only. It is not sent to us, and uninstalling the app or clearing its storage removes it:

• Recently viewed content, so the app works without a connection
• How far into a video or teaching you were, so it can resume where you stopped
• Items you save, recent searches, and your light/dark setting
• Radio recordings you choose to make

7. Who else handles information

• Hostinger — hosts the website and its database, and delivers form messages to us by email.
• Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France) — an email delivery service we use, or may use, to receive and reply to messages. Brevo privacy policy.
• Google — Google Analytics (sections 4 and 5), YouTube video playback, and Google Play for Android downloads.
• Apple — the App Store, for iPhone downloads.
• Zeno.fm — streams Jesus Is LORD Radio; like any audio stream it receives your IP address while you listen.

Each processes information on our instructions or under its own privacy policy. Some of them operate outside Kenya; where information is transferred abroad it is protected by the safeguards those providers maintain.

8. How long we keep it

• Prayer requests and messages: only as long as needed to pray and reply, and no longer than 24 months.
• Newsletter addresses: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
• App install records: deleted 13 months after the install was last used. View counts are kept only as totals.

9. Your rights

Under Kenya’s Data Protection Act 2019 — and, where it applies to you, the EU and UK GDPR — you may ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent. Write to info@repentandpreparetheway.com. If you are not satisfied with our answer you may complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (Kenya) or your local data protection authority.

10. Children

The website and apps are intended for a general audience and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children; if you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

All connections to the website and the apps’ servers are encrypted (HTTPS). Access to messages is limited to those in the Ministry who need it to respond.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update it here, with a new date. Using the website or apps after a change means the updated policy applies. See also our Terms of Use.
